BRITISH mobsters have had their UK citizenship revoked like ISIS fighters in a bid to defeat the “deadliest and most damaging threat” to the country, The Sun can reveal.

Security Minister Ben Wallace claimed organised crime is greater threat to Brits than terrorism, and the public should be “kept awake at night” at the scale.

New measures mean Brits with dual citizenship can have their passports deprived for organised crime — and sources say this extreme sanction has been already been used a small number of times.

Our revelation comes as Mr Wallace said household name luxury brands, banks, estate agents and public schools are helping fuel a £37 billion dirty money underworld in the UK.

He said: “Enabled by their lawyers and accountants, corrupt elites and criminals set up fake companies to help them to hide their profits, fund lavish lifestyles and invest in further criminality.”

And he vowed to end Britain being seen as “safe space” for these high level criminals to splash their dirty cash.

As well as kicking people out of the country for good, Mr Wallace unveiled plans for a new legal register of foreign companies owning property in the UK.

In a major speech he warned criminals “we will bring down on them the full force of the State.”

“This means using all the levers at our disposal. From the capabilities of GCHQ to sanctions, to visas and citizenship deprivations.

“We will turn up the heat and go after them whether they are at home or abroad. We need to get to a position where they, not us, have to be lucky every day.”

The National Crime Agency say there are around 4,600 organised crime groups operating in the UK with Mr Wallace announcing a £48 million cash injection to tackle them.
