A 22-year-old woman believed to be one of the youngest female paedophiles in Britain has been jailed for a string of sex offences against young girls.

Alysia Smedley, from Warsop, in Nottinghamshire, admitted engaging in sexual activity with three girls, who were all under the age of 16.

She had already received a suspended sentence and was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order in October 2016 for sexual activity with a child.

On Tuesday at Nottingham Crown Court, Smedley pleaded guilty to one offence of child abduction, one offence of sexual assault, four offences of sexual activity with a child and six offences of breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order in relation to five girls.

On one occasion she kept a girl away from her home at a friend's house for over 24 hours when the Sexual Harm Prevention Order was in place.

A statement from the child's mum revealed how Smedley's actions meant her daughter rarely goes out any more and finds it difficult to trust anyone.

As well as the jail sentence, she was given a five-year restraining order banning her from contacting three of the victims in the case.

She was also made the subject of a restraining order banning her from entering Warsop or Church Warsop, near Mansfield, except for pre-arranged visits.

The terms of the previous court order were extended indefinitely.

Smedley's appeared in court with former partner, Katie Hicken, who pleaded guilty to sexual activity with one of the girls after they kissed and she gave her love bites.

She was conditionally discharged for two years.

Detective Constable Louisa McGregor said: "Smedley is a dangerous individual that has preyed on young girls and this has had a significant impact on their lives.

"We'd like to thank the victims and their families for their commitment in this case and for putting their trust in us.

"It has been a lengthy investigation and we are pleased they can now put this behind them."
