Brazen Uber Eats delivery man pictured cycling down the M5 by bemused motorists

THIS was the shocking moment a brazen Uber Eats delivery man was pictured cycling down the M5 today.

The snap shows the man, laden with his huge backpack, pedalling close to the central reservation as traffic speeds past him - despite cyclists being banned from using motorways.

He was clocked close to junction two at Oldbury, West Midlands, at around 11.30 am.

Watch Commander at Oldbury Fire tweeted the image - and urged the company to "educate riders" so his team "aren't lifting a HGV off them".

He wrote: “How do you recruit staff who are willing to risk their lives @uberEats? This captured just now #M5 j2 #Oldbury.

“Please educate your riders so that my team and I from @Oldburyfire aren’t lifting a HGV off them. #UberEats #Uber #MotorwayMadness (Police aware).”

Uber said it was investigating and that "the safety of customers, couriers and the general public is a top priority".

A spokesman said: "All couriers are required to adhere to the Highway Code and any report of a courier breaching road laws can result in being removed from the Uber Eats app."

It is unclear how the delivery rider ended up on the motorway, which was even more congested due to roadworks.
