AN 18-YEAR-OLD girl has died after reportedly falling on a glass vodka bottle she had stashed in her waistband.

Megan O'Connor, 18, suffered a fatal cut in the early hours of Sunday morning in Dublin.

Police are now investigating, but are reportedly treating her tragic death as an accident.

The Mirror reported that the teen had been out with friends in the Irish capital when she fell about 1am - with the bottle breaking.

The young woman then suffered multiple injuries, including a severed artery.

She was rushed to St James's Hospital but was pronounced dead soon after.

Tributes have since been paid to the teen, with one remembering her as "one of a kind".

Another added: "You were literally the funniest, kind-hearted person."

A third said: "God has gained another angel."

A post mortem is due to take place today.

A police spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of an 18-year-old female that occurred on Sunday the 23rd of December 2018 at approx. 12.30am.

"An 18-year-old female collapsed...she was treated at scene by DFB and was then brought to St James Street Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

"Investigations are on going."
