A BOY has been rushed to hospital after being “pinned to a shop front” in a horror road crash.

The collision happened at Hardman’s Gardens, Drogheda, Louth, this afternoon.

The young pedestrian and driver were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital

A garda spokesman said: “Gardai in Drogheda are investigating a traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“Shortly after 4:30pm, a 12-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a car at Hardman’s Gardens, Drogheda.

“It’s understood the car left the road and struck an electricity pole before pinning the pedestrian to a shop front.

“Emergency services attended the scene. The pedestrian and the driver of the car, a 70-year-old woman, were taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

“Their injuries are not thought to be serious.”
