A BOY, 16, and a 29-year-old man are in hospital after a double stabbing in north London last night.

Police say they were called to reports of a fight on St Mary's Road in Edmonton just before 10pm on Friday.

The teenager was found suffering from stab wounds while the second victim was found in a van nearby.

He had also sustained knife injuries and both victims were taken to hospitals in east London.

Met Police confirmed a crime scene is in place but no arrests were made.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police were called at 9.50pm on Friday, 31 August to Alcazar Court, St Mary's Road N9 following reports of a fight in progress.

"Officers attended. A 16-year-old male was found suffering from stab wounds.

"Another male, aged 29, was found in a van also suffering from stab wounds."

The injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting CAD 7936/31 Aug.

It comes as knife crime in the capital has soared with dozens of people fatally stabbed in the city since the start of the year.

Recent figures from London's Metropolitan police showed that knife crime has surged by 16 per cent in the capital — as Britain's crime epidemic continues.

Excluding those killed in terror attacks like London Bridge, Westminster and Manchester, there was still a 12 per cent rise in murders — the highest numbers in a decade.

The total number of offences involving a knife or bladed instrument that have been recorded by cops in the year to March 2018 rose to 40,147, a seven-year-high.
