Body of 15-year-old schoolgirl’s newborn baby was found in bin

A 15-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl put her newly born baby son in a dustbin.

The teenager has revealed to police investigating the death of the babe that she did not know she was pregnant until she went in labour in the bathroom of her family home in Wesham, Lancashire.

Lancashire Police are investigating the circumstances of the boy's death last Thursday at the house in Garstang Road North.

They are trying to find out whether a criminal offence or an offence under the Coroner's Act has been committed.

The teenager spent two days in hospital after the birth of the child.

After that she was interviewed by police.

She revealed that after she delivered the baby she placed the child's body in the bin.

Her mother and father- he is a former serviceman- were out at the time.

The teen was later found by a relative who rang emergency services.

A post mortem has been carried out and police are awaiting the outcome of medical tests.
