A big thank you to TI staff and community

Hey everyone I just wanted to post about my short time here at TI.

I came here a couple weeks ago to get back into private trackers, after being out of the scene for about 7 years. I posted in the introduction, Immediatly sought advice and purchased my first 3 private trackers. I had never purchased tracker invites before So I was very skeptical. The transaction went very smoothly and upon looking up the reviews of the trackers I recieved. I found they were level 5 trackers. So I immediately started reading about trackers, and found myself wanting the best of the best. I began obsessing about PTP,HDbits.org,BTN I wanted these trackers. these were my goals, I mean everybody needs goals right. boy was I wrong, after tirelessly searching high and low for these trackers, it was consuming my time and energy and for what exactly? what was I looking for? Were these sites suddenly going to fill the void or was it something else. the something @TheTrader said set the bells off in my head. he told me "People always want what they cannot have" and that's exactly right. I started going through the sites I had building buffers exploring content, and guess what. I had a boatload of content at my disposal so much in fact its mind boggling if you take the time to explore. My sites are not prestigious by any sense of the word. But they ARE full of content easy to build ratio. My ratio's are immaculate and I can download whatever whenever I want from any of my private trackers, with no worry about ratio at all.

My biggest advice to new users and myself is, take a step back evaluate what content it is your searching for, don't look at tracker lists and say oh thats the highest ranking one thats the one I want. this is the wrong way to look at it and I'm guilty of doing that. Take the advice givin freely to us here from staff and other member. I would listen to their advice but still be so intent on seeking these trackers out. why I don't know. I would post in invite requests and post in giveaways and then pm the sellers. when I didn't need these trackers I needed to step back and explore the ones I had!

And now that the community has finally gotten through my thick skull. I'm much more content with what I have and really evaluate what is important in a tracker. I want safety and not have to worrry about being disabled after all my hard work on a tracker. We have a great community here full of knowledge and yes invites. Let's use it to its potential. Shut off that voice in your head saying I wont be happy until I have so and so trackers. I'm not saying don't go for those trackers by any means, they have a spot for people to!

So in closing if you see me in any threads for trackers besides BTN or What.cd (I actually have real reasons for those 2) kindly pm me and ask me what I'm doing there. If I don't have a good reason I will withdraw from that thread. let's keep each other in check. It's damaging to the community in my opinion to get trackers based on status or want over need, because another member may be really needing that tracker and I am muddying up their chance to get it. And I don't feel right about that.

So let's get only the trackers we need from each other, and don't over collect to where we don't maintain accounts and ratio's. Lets keep our community strong and our invite trees as safe as we can.

Haha, great self-reflective post there and one we can/should all relate to. I guess that's kinda happened to me w/ Pedro's but I'm going to have to let it go since its not a NEED. I will try to take note myself of these tendencies and learn to be satisfied with what I have.
