    Anybody using Usenet?

I was an avid Usenet user in the past but when my ISP discontinued the service, I too left Usenet. Most of my Usenet usage was centered around learning and participating in my preferred communities.

Though most of my needs are now fulfilled by various forums and QA sites like StackExchange, I still yearn for Usenet experience at times.

Can anyone recommend good and inexpensive Usenet service based on their own experience? I would also like to know from users, whether Usenet still holds some value for knowledge-seekers, and occasionally for warez. That said, alt.binaries is not my primary motive to re-enter the Usenet world. It is about communities and sharing.

Hi @torfreak, I was just going around the forum seeing if anyone else uses Usenet on top of torrents.
I use it for ebooks (epub) because I could never find any books on T411 (or at least not the ones I needed). What's bothering me is that you need to pay a provider on top. On the other hand I wouldn't mind paying if I could find a really good (private) usenet site, but that's not really the case. So I might be giving up soon..... I'm using Abnzb.com at the moment, but a lot of ebook files are listed but not found.... It's really a nuisance because a lot of books can't be bought as epub either, so I need to get the paper versions and they take up too much space.....ahlala the life of a fervent reader isn't easy. LOL

    re

Yes, I am using usenet and I can help to resolve any kind of problems related to it. I am using usenet in the best proofreading service so I have a lot of experience about it. Could you please join this discussion.

@torfreak https://nzbfinder.ws is way better but with a limit of 5 downloads per day.
https://xsusenet.com/ is a free server with 25GB/month data. @Jason1751 what other free servers are there? care to share.

I find usenet so confusing. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

First off, why do so many people swear by them and forget about torrents altogether?

Does it require you to pay for a server just to download files? Or can you use your machine?

Is it a similar system as private trackers, where quality sites require a subscription of some kind?

Why do people like usenet so much? Is the quality and availability of content comparable to private torrent trackers?

Usenet is awesome, it's like torrenting but for rich people, you do not have to maintain any "Ratio rules" or "hit and run rules" and it is "safe" means isp cannot track what you downloaded, and you do not need vpn etc, safe in US UK germany etc. Everything can be set up to be automatically downloaded if you have the "right websites". Only problem with it is you have to "pay".

If you are happy with public torrents, stick with it. If you want a little more content then go to IPt and TL. Thats all thanks for reading.
