CONFRONTING footage has emerged of a bull running head first into a wall during the annual Running of the Bulls event in Spain’s Pamplona, sparking more calls to end the tradition.

In the video, shouts of panic can be heard as people run down a narrow street.

A bull then comes racing around the corner.

Unable to stop in time, the animal slams into a wall and is knocked down as a result.

The bull appears to be momentarily stunned before it gets to its feet and carries on out of shot.

The video, which was viewed more than two million times on barstoolsports’ Instagram page frustrated many who believe the Spanish event should be cancelled.

“I hate this tradition. Absolutely cruel,” one user commented.

Others suggested that the satirical sports blog was condoning animal cruelty by posting the video.

“Don’t support this @barstoolsports come on,” wrote another user.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organisation dedicated to protecting animal rights, have long been trying to put an end to the Running of the Bulls and deter tourists from attending with a yearly ‘Running of the Nudes’ protest.
