Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, one of the busiest in Europe in terms of passenger volume, has been hit with a power outage. “Our airport was hit with a temporary power outrage earlier this morning,” the airport said in a statement on Twitter. Power was soon restored but the incident may have “severe consequences for air traffic during the day,” airport spokesman Jacco Bartels said, as cited by Reuters. The airport warned that departing flights may be cancelled and some incoming flights will be put on hold.
