Houston, Mar 6 - RIA Novosti, Ekaterina Sobol. Senator from the State of Alaska, Daniel Sullivan, on the margins of the annual energy conference CERAWeek in Houston, called conditions under which sanctions can be lifted from Russia.

According to him, Moscow should stop "activity" in a number of areas, which contradicts the interests of Washington. He specified that he had in mind the situation in Ukraine and the "interference" in the elections in a number of countries.

Sullivan did not reply to RIA Novosti on the clarifying question whether the anti-Russian sanctions would help the development of American energy. He noted that the US should "supply more energy, because it helps to weaken Russia's activities."

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated due to the situation in Ukraine and around the Crimea. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine and the subject of Minsk agreements.

However, the European Union and the United States still imposed anti-Russian sanctions, while Moscow took retaliatory measures and set the course for import substitution. But recently in the West there has been a growing awareness of the need to abolish restrictive measures.

Last week, US President Donald Trump extended sanctions against Russia for another year.

In addition, the US is investigating the so-called intervention of Russia in the US elections, which in November 2016 Trump won. These accusations are refuted both in the White House and in the Kremlin.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called these statements "absolutely unsubstantiated." Trump also denied the alleged "collusion with Moscow" and repeatedly pointed out that "Russian intervention" began during the Obama presidency.
