MEN at an ambulance trust watched porn, simulated sex acts and spanked women workers who they called “fresh meat”, a shock report reveals.

They also had “sexualised” conversations in crew rooms.

An independent review into South West Ambulance Service Trust found such behaviour had become “normalised”, with managers failing to stop it.

One woman told investigators she was expected to give sexual favours if she wanted to progress her career.

Staff claim mistreatment led to employees taking their own lives.

Those identified as gay or who had disabilities or chronic illnesses were most likely to be bullied.

Excessive work demands were a significant cause of stress at the trust, whose control hub in Bradley Stoke, Gloucs, was opened by Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in May.

Chris Nelson, of union Unison, said: “Whenever staff complained they felt perpetrators were let off the hook, and sent away with a slap on the wrist or a training course at best.”

The trust’s Amy Beet said areas identified as bullying “hotspots” now had new senior managers.
