ANY CHILD of the 80s will remember ALF.

ALF, which stands for Alien Life Form, was inescapable during its run from 1986-1990.

The wisecracking alien, named Gordon Shumway, came to live with the Tanner family after he crashed into their garage from his planet Melmac.

The Tanners made him part of their family, despite his relentless attempts to eat their cat, Lucky.

They also try and hide him from their nosy neighbours.

EW has confirmed that Warner Bros. is in the early stages of redeveloping the show.

The original creators Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco are said to be on board.

Fusco was the voice of ALF, while Patchett operated the puppet.

His Earth family included actors Max Wright, Anne Schedeen, Andrea Elson and Benji Gregory.

According to Variety, one of the ideas for the beoot could involve ALF coming out from Area 51–where he has been held captive since the original series finale.

Warner Bros. TV has declined to comment.

The Hollywood Reporter has said that no TV network has been confirmed yet, and its sources say the reboot is in very early development.

The original series ran for four seasons on NBC.
