Amazon just sealed a deal with Marvel to sell their comics in the Kindle store.
Amazon has just got virtual monopoly on the digital Marvel comics. Kindle owners can now purchase single issues through amazons store without needing any other app to do it.

According to Engadget, over 12, 000 back issues of titles like "Guardians of the Galaxy", "Daredevil", and "The Amazing Spiderman" will be available on the Kindle Store. Plus all the titles will be available the same day physical copies arrive in regular stores.
Before the deal between Amazon and Marvel was made to sell their titles on Kindle, the Marvel titles were already digitally available in two different formats. Forbes reported that there was the Marvel Unlimited app and the Comixology distribution system.

The Marvel Unlimited App allow subscribers to browse any Marvel comic that is over six months old for a monthly fee of $9.99. While the Comixology app, an Amazon owned distribution system, has newer titles.

The Verge reported that while the Amazon-Marvel deal will be bringing a huge back catalog to Kindle owners, Comixology will still continue to run both its apps and the Marvel Comics app for iOS and Android devices, as well as the Marvel Digital Comic Shop.

According to Forbes, one of the biggest issues that digital comics have is piracy. There are a number of people who take the risk to download comic illegally in order to get the digital comics for free. The Amazon-Marvel deal will make the existence of digital comic piracy less necessary since they are made available at affordable prices.
