AFP charms with hilarious Love Actually spoof
Australia’s federal police force has gotten into the Christmas spirit with a hilarious Love Actually spoof that’s charming thousands of Aussies online.
Ripping off the famous scene from the 2003 movie, it begins with an AFP officer knocking on a woman’s door with a bunch of signs.
Only instead of ‘Say it’s carol singers’, the officer’s first sign reads: “Relax, I’m not a stripper”.
The video has be shared on Facebook more than 14,000 times and had more than half a million views since it was posted by the AFP on Wednesday.
“We feel it in our fingers, we feel it in our toes. Christmas is all around us, here’s some love from the Po-Po,” the AFP posted with the video.
The video has a serious message as well as showing Australians what the AFP loves - Aussies, a Bunning’s snag “onions side down of course” and our “unofficial national anthem”, The Horses by Daryl Braithwaite.
It also reminds Aussies of the crimes tackled by its officers every day; child exploitation, drug trafficking and organised crime.
Viewers welcomed the lighthearted Christmas message.
“I do have to admit, whoever is in charge of public relations and this Facebook page, you do have a great sense of humour! Merry Christmas AFP. Keep up the great work,” one woman said.
Another wrote: “This was actually really sweet. Merry Christmas AFP from our family to yours.”
Thousands of other wrote in to thank the AFP for keeping Aussies safe.
