AN 11-YEAR-old girl has given birth by caesarean after she was allegedly gang raped by six men.

The young girl was allegedly lured into the rape with the promise of money for her impoverished family and gave birth to her daughter a month prematurely.

Her baby is believed to be experiencing some “health problems”.

All six suspects in the attack in Rajkot, western India, were arrested last week, according to Indian websites including NDTV.

They were named as Vijanand Ahir, age unknown, Vipul Chavda, 40, Govind Sakariya, 61, Arvind Kubawat, 60, Nanji Javiya, 67. An unnamed 17-year-old was also arrested.

The men, who allegedly lured the girl in by offering her work cleaning their homes, were arrested after the victim’s mother complained to police that her daughter was pregnant, The Indian Express reported.

A police spokesman is reported as saying the young mother is in a “stable condition” after giving birth.

They added: “The newborn baby had some health problems and has been admitted to a government-run children’s hospital.”

An official said last week: “The girl’s father is unemployed due to ill health and her mother works as a maid.

“The matter came to light after she was found to be eight months pregnant.

“Initially the girl concealed the incident from her family members but eventually told her mother.”
