User - The Default.
Requirements - None.
Perks - Can make requests.

Member - The First Rung.
Requirements - Been here for at least 1 week, has uploaded at least 10 GB and a ratio above 0.7.
Perks - Can edit collages.
Demotions - Demoted to User when their ratio drops below 0.65.

Power User - Those With a Little Power.
Requirements - Been here at least 2 weeks, has uploaded at least five torrents and 25 GB, ratio above 1.05.
Perks - Receives invites, can access notifications, create new collages, get a personal collage, access to the Power User & Invites forums, can create forum polls, and immunity from inactivity disabling.
Demotions - Demoted to Member when their uploaded amount drops below 25 GB, their ratio drops below 0.95 or their current uploaded torrent total is less than five.

Elite - The Elite.
Requirements - Been here at least 4 weeks, has uploaded at least 50 torrents and 100 GB, ratio above 1.05.
Perks - Access to the Elite forum, Top 10 filters, a second personal collage, and torrent editing privileges.
Demotions - Demoted to Power User when their uploaded amount drops below 100 GB or their current uploaded torrent total is less than 50. Demoted to Member when their ratio drops below 0.95.

Torrent Master - The Select Few.
Requirements - Been here at least 8 weeks, has uploaded at least 500 torrents and 500 GB, ratio above 1.05.
Perks - Access to the Torrent Master forum, earns custom title, a third personal collage, and unlimited invites.
Demotions - Demoted to Elite when their uploaded amount drops below 500 GB or their current uploaded torrent total is less than 500. Demoted to Member when their ratio drops below 0.95.

Power TM - The Coolest of the Cool.
Requirements - Been here at least 8 weeks, has uploaded at least 500 GB, ratio above 1.05, and has also uploaded one or more torrents in at least 500 unique groups (albums).
Perks - Everything Torrent Master gets plus a fourth personal collage.
Demotions - Demoted to Torrent Master when their current uploaded torrent total contains less than 500 unique groups. Demoted to Elite when their uploaded amount drops below 500 GB or their current uploaded torrent total is less than 500. Demoted to Member when their ratio drops below 0.95.

Elite TM - Masters of the FLAC.
Requirements - Been here at least 8 weeks, has uploaded at least 500 GB, ratio above 1.05, and has also uploaded at least 500 torrents that are "perfect" FLAC (100% log for CD, or any Vinyl/DVD/Soundboard/WEB/Cassette/Blu-ray/SACD/DAT).
Perks - Everything Power TM gets plus a fifth personal collage.
Demotions - Demoted to either Power TM or Torrent Master when their current uploaded torrent total contains less than 500 100% CD FLAC and/or Vinyl/DVD/Soundboard/WEB/Cassette/Blu-ray/SACD/DAT FLAC torrents. Demoted to Elite when their uploaded amount drops below 500 GB or their current uploaded torrent total is less than 500. Demoted to Member when their ratio drops below 0.95.

VIP - Special People.
Requirements - Be awesome.
Perks - Access to the VIP forum, advanced Wiki editing, custom title, five personal collages, and can send unlimited invites.

What are the different user classes?

User: The default class of new members.

Power User: More than 25GB uploaded and 5GB downloaded with a ratio above 1.05; must have been be a member for at least 4 weeks.

VIP: Same privileges as Power User and is considered an Elite Member of Waffles.fm. Immune to automatic demotion.

Waffle Iron: Handle the approval of torrents as Waffle Iron certified rips.

Moderator: Can edit and delete any uploaded torrents. Can also moderate user comments and disable accounts.

Administrator: Can do just about anything.

SysOps: Shinikaru, Mr. J, and krofh.

How does this promotion thing work anyway?

Power User: Must have been be a member for at least 4 weeks, have uploaded at least 25GB, downloaded at least 5GB, and have a ratio at or above 1.05. The promotion is automatic (within 24 hours) when these conditions are met. Note that you will be automatically demoted fromthis status if your ratio drops below 0.95 at any time.

VIP: Assigned by mods at their discretion to users they feel contribute something special to the site. (Anyone begging for VIP status will be automatically disqualified.)

The Divergence
At this point in the User Class ladder, there is a choice to be made. If you would like to continue climbing the ladder, there are two paths that you can take: Uploader, or Non-Uploader. If you choose to upload to BeatHau5, you can progress along the Uploader user classes by uploaded torrents to the site (in addition to the ratio and data requirements). Provided all your uploads meet the Upload Guidelines, you will gain more privileges as you move up the ladder.

If you choose to be a non-uploader, you can progress along the Non-Uploader user classes by making posts in the forums (in addition to the ratio and data requirements). Provided all of your posts meet the Chat Guidelines, you will gain more privileges as you move up the ladder.

Notes
These two paths are NOT mutually exclusive. You can change paths at any point in your membership at BeatHau5 simply by meeting the requirements for that specific class. If you are an uploader and want to change over to a non-uploader, simply stop uploading and be sure you have the right ratio and data requirements. If you are a non-uploader and want to become an uploader, simply start uploading torrents to the site.

Restrictions on class promotions
Users who have active warnings do not change userclass.
Users with zero download do not change userclass.
User class changes happen automatically these can occur at any point of the day.

BTN

1: User Classes

User Classes are a way of separating groups of users into similar categories describing how they use and contribute to BTN.

As you move through the User-Classes more features are of the Site, including access to more forums and IRC channels become available to you. Higher classes also have greater input as to how the site is run, their opinions carry more weight and they are generally more respected by others.

2: Snatches

First, a quick definition for Snatches:
A Snatch means a torrent that has been completely downloaded. On BTN the term Snatches includes:
1: The torrents snatched by you (Snatched)
2: Plus for the torrents you have uploaded: all of the snatches (of that uploaded torrent) by other users (Uploads Snatched). A single torrent you upload can be snatched dozens or even hundreds of times, all of these snatches are included on your Snatches.
3: Any files under 100MB don't count as a snatch!

In your user-profile, you will see seperate entries for Uploads Snatched and Snatched, added together both of these determine your Snatches.

Please note that the amount of Bonus Points required, as listed in the previous link, are to be spent on the actual advancement to the next userclass (i.e. you lose them in the process).

Your current attributes along with the levels required for meeting the next User-class can be found in your user profile via the Next Class link. Due to rounding up, the total time displayed may be imprecise - you might have to wait a few more days before buying a promotion. Classes cannot be skipped, i.e. users must get each one sequentially.


1.1: User

Default class for all new members.


1.2: Member

Been here for at least 2 weeks, has snatched (including uploads) at least 100 torrents, has 100,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 100GB total. Can access the XXX forum.


1.3: Power User

Been here at least 1 month, has snatched (including uploads) at least 250 torrents, has 250,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 250GB total. Has access to PU forum, Top10 filters, and can access notifications.


1.4: Extreme User

Been here at least 2 months and 3 weeks, has snatched (including uploads) at least 500 torrents, has 500,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 500GB total. Has access to the Extreme User forum.


1.5: Elite

Been here at least 5 months and 2 weeks, has snatched (including uploads) at least 1,000 torrents, has 850,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 1TB total. Has access to the Elite forum and can set own Custom Title.


1.6: Guru

Been here at least 8 months and 1 week, has snatched (including uploads) at least 1,500 torrents, has 1,500,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 2.5TB total. Has access to the Guru forum and Custom Title.


1.7: Master

Been here at least 12 months, has snatched (including uploads) at least 3,000 torrents, has 3,000,000 bonus points and downloaded/uploaded at least 7.5TB total. Custom Title & Unlimited Invites. Is considered a God of BTN and the highest user level a normal user can attain.

3: Special User Classes

Special User-classes are not attainable through the normal user-class system; please do not ask, we ask you!


3.1: Torrent Celebrity

This class is reserved for Admin/Sysops at other respected trackers. Staff-confirmed Official Recruiters also carry this title in order for our Official Invite Threads to be as legit as possible. Please don't ask.


3.2: VIP

Chosen by Admins/Sysops. This class will also contain Ex-FLS and Ex-TV Techs. Please don't ask.

3.3: Guest of Honor

Encoders from other trackers that take the time to upload their content to BTN. Much appreciated.


3.4: Legend

Former staff of BTN who has stepped down for whatever reason. We miss you


3.5: Encoder

Part of BTN's Encoding and/or Capping Team.


4: Community-Staff Classes

These staff members have limited privileges on BTN, which correlate with their role. (IE. TV Technicians can modify torrents, they do not have access to moderate the forums as Forum Mods do). Community-Staff classes are not attainable through the user-class system, please do not ask, we ask you!


4.1: TV Technician

A crew of staff that's main concentration is keeping the site's torrents clean and up to par.


4.2: Junior Coder

This level of staff is tasked with eliminating site bugs and creating new features. Junior Coders have access to the databases and are able to investigate more complex problems. If you are interested in being a coder, please send a Staff PM and it will be routed to the correct department for approval.


4.3: Designer

Designers are responsible for the graphics and layouts on the site.


4.4: First-Line Support

FLS are able to assist with a variety of issues. They cannot however resolve issues such as passwords, passkeys or other account related issues.


5: Staff Classes

You don't ask us, we ask you!


5.1: Moderator

These staff members keep the day-day aspects of the site running, they are responsible for maintaining order in IRC channels and forums, editing torrents, and assisting with account related matters. Some moderators are also responsible for specific areas of the site, these responsibilities are listed against their names on the staff page.


5.2: Team Leader

Moderators in charge of teams throughout BTN, they keep peace if complications arise.


5.3: Developer

Leading & coordinating the coding effort. Developers are responsible for managing the Junior Coders and accountable for the site code including change control, release management and all code development.


5.4: Administrator

The highest level of the site. Administrators have access everything that is BTN. They are to be feared. Administrators are accountable for overall site maintenance and management including: managing staff, site security, setting the longer term strategies and assisting sysops in major decisions and setting future site direction.

5.5: Lead Developer

Must have a nerd power level over 9000. This userclass can fix all that is broken.

5.6: SysOp

Rare creatures often huddled in dark rooms lit only by multiple monitors. Rumored to live on torrent pieces and disabled-user-accounts.

Cinematik

What are the different user classes?

User The default class of new members.

Power User Has more download slots and also receives other perks available only to Power Users and higher.

Donor Star Has donated money to Cinematik.net.

VIP Same privileges as Power User and is considered an Elite Member of Cinematik.net. Immune to automatic demotion.

Other Customised title.

Moderator Can edit and delete any uploaded torrents. Can also moderate user comments, forums, warn and disable accounts.

Administrator Can do just about anything.

SysOp Site god.

How does this promotion thing work anyway?

Kitty Litter This is a demoted class for members who have downloaded more than 7GB, with a global ratio of 0.4 or less, or have accumulated enough Hit and Runs. Members of this class are unable to download new torrents, but they may at any time re-download any torrents that they have already downloaded before in order to seed them back. To return to User status they must raise their global ratio to over 0.4, and fix their Hit and Runs.
User This is the standard class that every member starts off as.
Power User Middle class for members who meet a certain set of guidelines. Requirements for this class is 250GB downloaded and a min ratio of 1.2. In addition you have to be a member for a minimum of 2 months.
Super Power User Middle class for members who meet a certain set of criteria. Requirements for this class is 500GB downloaded and a min ratio of 1.5. In addition you have to be a member for a minimum of 2 months.
Elite Upper level class for members who meet a certain set of criteria. Requirements for this class is 750GB downloaded and a min ratio of 2.2. In addition you have to be a member for a minimum of 2 months.
Super Elite Upper level class for members who meet a certain set of criteria. Requirements for this class is 1.5TB downloaded and a min ratio of 2.5. In addition you have to be a member for a minimum of 2 months.
VIP This status is given with Staff discretion to people who contribute to the site and we want to recognize for their support, so don't ask staff to become VIP.
Forum Moderator Outstanding members in forums appointed by Staff to maintain the forums. They are selected by staff and sometimes application will be posted if needed. Don't ask to become staff.
Moderator Outstanding members chosen by staff to moderate and maintain the tracker and forum. Don't ask to become one, we'll ask you!
Administrator Outstanding staff chosen to maintain most aspects of the site. These individuals are responsible for the general running of the site and help out members and staff on a regular basis. Don't ask to become staff.
