Question [Question] Tracker to HTTP vs HTTPS ?

    Hi,

I have a question for you. When the tracker offers to download the torrent file in HTTPS.
Is it better to download in HTTPS or stay on HTTP?

What is the difference between the two?

    I'll try to explain

HTTPS establishes an encrypted connection between a web server and a browser.( in that case Tracker---> Browser or Tracker----> seedbox )

In addition to encrypting the data transmitted between the server and your browser, TLS also authenticates the server you are connecting to and protects that transmitted data from tampering.

    Over http

When you visit a website, your browser and the web server exchange data that is sent as normal text. Anyone who has access to the connection could read along or manipulate the data. Such access can happen at any place in the connection chain

    I recommend using https

I hope that could help you a bit.

HTTPS and VPNs do similar things in different ways, so it’s understandable why some people confuse the two. Both are tools used to protect internet users and their privacy

HTTPS has nothing to do with anonymity its (only) a transport encryption, not E2E. The content can be man-in-the-middled, where as if it were E2E'd, the eavesdropper would only see encrypted data
