Private Invites: A Tale of Two trackers...

Not sure how many people will read this, but if it helps one person, it will be worth it. First, about me, I am a reasonable downloader, and uploader. I prefer, tv/movies and box sets. I have been a long time torrent user, but have recently found public trackers far less reliable and content thinning. I think sharing should be fun and easy, and I always try to seed more than I download, and I think it should be easy, not hard work. I joined TI simply put to get a couple of Private invites...

With that said, I received invites from @spac0r and @theprisoners (Both repped and Liked) Thanks to you both!!

I read the reviews about both trackers before I got started, but wanted to share my 2 cents after having downloaded some. The trackers I got invited to are: IPTorrents. Review: IPTorrents | IPT | General | 2015 Review and TorrentLeech. Review: TorrentLeech | TL | General | 2015 Review

Torrentleech was the invite I received first. It is a nice looking site with lots of contents, tons of seeders.....and TONS of Rules (especially for new invites.) Some rules of relevance: Waitlist for low seed ratio based on file size, hit and run warnings and no freeleeches to name a few. I requested a file and had to waitlist 15 hours for the download, once I downloaded it my ratio immediately dropped below .4 and the numbers of leechers after 15 hours was 1, so I also received a hit and run warning. I have now fixed both of these issues but my ratio is still pretty low.

The content that is available on Torrentleech doesn't seem to be super exclusive, and this is primarily how I fixed my ratio (lots of cross seeding.)

So, all in all I like Torrentleech but I think it requires a lot of work. Couple of tips for new invites: DO NOT Download anything!! Cross seed a few files first. Get your ratio up. Then only download a few small files that incur the smallest wait penalty. Only download something that is popular to avoid hit and run penalties. Good Luck!

on the flip side of the coin is IPtorrents which I love!!

IPTorrents was the invite I received second. It is a nice looking site with lots of contents, tons of seeders and LEECHERS. Still some rules but much easier to get and build a share ratio. Tons of freeleech items, bonuses for long term seeding (even if no leechers are present). Overall!! Super Happy with IPTorrents!!

Thanks for reading, please let me know if you have questions or feedback for me.

@Simoss Don't expose your username, download, upload it's for your own safety...Some trackers don't like invites forums and they ban their users.

Nice write up and very interesting to hear. I don't have torrentleech but have heard that it is a bit difficult to seed so cross-seeding to get yourself started is a brilliant idea. Being a general tracker you should be able to find its torrents all over the public sphere.

TI's tracker reviews and and tracker list are great because they give you an indication of seeding difficulty. This is the first thing I look at with a new tracker so you can determine how you're going to tackle leeching and seeding. If it says moderate to hard I'm very careful with my downloads and try to concentrate on internal releases as these tend to be the most popular. The other thing is jumping onto a torrent as soon as it is uploaded. If a torrent has been up for a couple of days I ignore it like the plague.

A way you can solve all these issues and make life easier for yourself is to set up RSS or autodl-irssi. You should take a look at FAQ's and forums of your respective trackers to see how to get them setup. There's also some really nice and easy to follow tutorials here that you can refer to, obviously depending on which torrent client you are running.
