Pedro's, honestly what's the big deal?
I recently got into Pedro's, trust me I didn't give up much and I'm glad but I have to ask what's the big deal?
Because it's rated an 8 just behind HDBits.org you would think it would be some super duper music FLAC tracker. But quite frankly it's pretty shit if you ask me, it has only a 1000 working torrents and honestly you would find much better content on Waffles, What.cd & even the lowly ranked IPT have much better range of FLAC music.
I don't get why it's rated so hard to get because it just doesn't have the content to match. I think high level trackers are bullshit honestly, besides what.cd and PTP I don't really see a need for any trackers rated so high.
What do others think?

It has strict quality rules. Only self made rips are allowed from official releases (no CD-Rs, no unofficial bootlegs/pirates, no downloaded materials etc). There are many pirates and "found" releases (bad rips) on general trackers and on what.cd as well. If you only want to listen to music while jogging, you may just download mp3s from any source, but if you want exact copies (backups) of official releases, you need a reliable source.

I agree, they do have strict quality rules, but as far as amount of content goes, Pedro's doesn't come close to what.cd/waffles, also lot of the old torrents on Pedro's don't have much/any seeders, so speeds are mediocre. Only reason it is a big deal is because it's not very easy to get invited there.

There are trackers who care for quantity and trackers who care for quality.
Quality + small community + rare invites gave Pedro's the High Level rank.

I understand the quality and community aspect but What.cd creams Pedro's in content. Everything is available on What.cd, after all isnt a FLAC rip a FLAC rip? There is nothing I can't find on either What.cd or Waffles.
I understand invites are rare to Pedro's and that makes it a rare find but still that doesn't make it a better tracker.

i have to admit, after getting on what and pedro, the hype is just that, hype. what has an amazing collection period, waffles a close second. pedro is very niche.
pedro just doesnt have the variety. i like all types of music but it seems most music sites like to focus on the mainstream genres or rock more so than anything else out there. and to disclude online web shops that do sell WAV files that i convert to flac and can contribute is very silly now.
i've parked my account on pedro, and will continue to scour my archives to contribute to what and waffles

Because of the rarity of the invites and the small userbase, also quality control in terms of members getting in and content being uploaded, its like a small community that is aimed only toward a certain types of people, not necessarily supposed to be a huge archive for everything there is.
I mean you could make a private web site and invite close friends and they invite their close trusted friends where you all in this small community share with each other the stuff that you liked the most with eachother, so you see.. its more about sharing with eachother stuff that they rather enjoyed than just uploading anything in sight. its basically not for everyone. but since its private and not easily available, people want it. thats how our brains are wired.

dont get me wrong, its a great community for the time i have spent in there but to apply to be an uploader is strange, especially since, if u know how to rip music, you should be allowed to contribute without jumping through hoops. i can rip to wav and encode in FLAC, it isnt hard. but it seems they r interested in a few more donaters to keep the place going. but thats just my opinion
