Yesterday a friend told me i can make money with torrents and asked me know, how it would be possible to get money with torrents. Anyone of you know how to do or if it is really possible? ( sorry for my bad english )

Your "profit" is indirect, i.e. instead of making money directly, you have money left over from what you don't spend on paying for programs or renting/buying DVDs / BluRays.

I think it's implying that instead of spending money on watching movies, and games, you download for free and save that money.

Does not seem like you can, you upload because you want that buffer. Other than that I see no other point.

You can earn a crypto called BTT by using a edited version of utorrent (just google BTT). It's barely worth it tbh and the torrent client is awful and hugely resource hungry.

Basically the client "sells" and "buys" tokens automatically depending on the settings you set. To get faster speeds you "sell" the token so you move up the priority list. The problem is (as it is with any other crypto) everyone wants to earn more tokens so nobody "sells" them. It's like 10,000 people selling apples but only 1 person wants to buy them. Also, with internet speed nowadays who needs to download faster when you can download a film in a matter of minutes anyway?

It's worth having a try at it for bit of fun though.
