    Best Trackers to use?

    Hi.
I started a torrent website where I custom wrote software, relatively small and I present a small set of videos. I just picked a bunch of random trackers to get me started, but the trackers seem to go up and down. Originally I thought I'd only have to create the .torrent files once and it would live forever unmodified, but now every once in a while I re-generate the .torrents using the trackers that seem to be popular. I don't know if that is the way it is supose to be. Any recommendations on good trackers to use?

I'm currently using if anyone has any comments on(I should or should not use and why):

    glotorrents.com
    tracker.coppersurfer.tk
    tracker.leechers-paradise.org
    tracker.opentrakr.org

You don't actually need a tracker. DHT and Peer Exchange are enough.

Thanks for the info. I was not thinking I could do a trackerless torrent. Now that you mention it, I did know that DHT did not need a tracker, but I also thought that DHT was a newer plugin that was not available in all torrent clients and that we still needed at least one tracker to get initial peer information. I am serving my torrents from a webpage that may or may not be acting as a torrent seed. I mainly rely on using HTTP WebSeeds and that does not come with any peer information so I didn't see how initial peer list is obtained with WebSeeds and DHT. I'm still assuming that having multiple trackers is still better than not having any trackers at all -- else why wouldn't everyone provide trackerless torrents?

As for PEX, I've tried a handful of different torrent clients with Transmission and VUZE being my top choices. I haven't figured out for Transmission, but for VUZE, PEX seems to load in the total number of peers, but always connects to 0 peers. I don't know why yet, but I assume that many people have very similar setup to mine, and if it doesn't work for me, it might not work for a lot of other people so I didn't have confidence that was reliable.
