FREMANTLE

Brady Grey (de-listed)
At least four WAFL clubs are chasing the signature of former Fremantle hard nut Brady Grey.
South Fremantle, East Fremantle, Swan Districts and Peel Thunder have all shown interest Grey, who was de-listed by the Dockers last month after 21 appearances in five injury-ravaged seasons.

It is understood Grey will remain in WA rather than heading back to his home state of Tasmania if he’s not picked up in this month’s national or rookie drafts.

Michael Johnson (retired)

Perth are in discussions with the retired Fremantle great about a potential return to Lathlain Park next season.

Demons chief executive Dale Ballantyne confirmed the club had informally met with Johnson a couple of times since he called time on his decorated 244-game AFL career last month.

Ballantyne said the 33-year-old would be given “as much time as he needs” to weigh up his future.

He flagged the possibility of the 2013 All-Australian taking up a coaching position or another off-field role at his former WAFL club if his body wasn’t up to pulling on the boots.

Danyle Pearce (retired)
Danyle Pearce has signed with his original SANFL club Sturt for 2019.

The 32-year-old, who started his career at Port Adelaide before heading to Fremantle after the 2012 season, retired from the AFL at the end of last season after 258 appearances.

Pearce has relocated back to his home state after accepting a job at gin-producing company Something Wild Beverages alongside his former Power teammate Daniel Motlop.

Tommy Sheridan (de-listed)
Sheridan has been given an AFL lifeline by Greater Western Sydney.
The Giants wasted little time in swooping on Sheridan, signing him up on the first day of the de-listed free agency period.

Sheridan was de-listed by the Dockers alongside Cam Sutcliffe, Brady Grey and Luke Strnadica last month after 81 appearances in seven seasons.

He will join former Fremantle teammate Matt de Boer at the Giants.

Lee Spurr (retired)
Lee Spurr announced his retirement from AFL football in August after a battle with a degenerative knee injury.

He did not play a game at any level in 2018 and looks a long shot to appear in the WAFL next season.

Luke Strnadica (de-listed)
The East Fremantle product Luke Strnadica is being chased by three WAFL clubs in the event he doesn’t get an AFL lifeline.
The 201cm big man, who was cut by Fremantle after showing promising signs for Peel Thunder last season, is most likely to return to the Sharks, with the Royals and reigning premiers Subiaco also in the hunt.

Cam Sutcliffe (de-listed)
The axed Fremantle defender could receive an AFL lifeline as a de-listed free agent after he was flown into Sydney for a medical late last month.

The 26-year-old has also been in contact with his original SANFL club, Woodville-West Torrens, who said they were hopeful of signing Sutcliffe ahead of next year.

WEST COAST
Tarir Bayok (de-listed)
Tarir Bayok is back at East Perth after two seasons on West Coast’s rookie list without playing a senior game.

The Royals officially announced the signing of Bayok last week.

Ryan Burrows (de-listed)
The South Fremantle product is likely to play in the WAFL next season.

Callan England (de-listed)
Another player who will most likely play WAFL, with his original club Claremont the favourite.

Malcolm Karpany (de-listed)
Woodville-West Torrens are “hopeful” the de-listed Eagle will return to his original SANFL club in 2019.
Karpany failed to add to seven his senior games in 2018, spending the season in the WAFL.

Mark LeCras (retired)
The West Coast premiership forward will re-unite with his older brother Brent at Cervantes next season.
Mark announced his retirement from the AFL last month after 441 goals in 219 games, the third most in the Eagles’ history.

Former West Perth champion and North Melbourne-listed Brent was playing-coach at the Central Midlands Coastal Football League powerhouse this season, while father Peter also helped out in an off-field role.

Eric Mackenzie (retired)
Eric Mackenzie retired in September after being struck down by hallux rigidus — an arthritic condition which has affected the big toe on both feet.

Injuries will prevent the champion defender from playing at a high level next season.

Tony Olango (de-listed)
The emerging ruckman, spent one season on the Eagles’ rookie list, is likely to end up in the WAFL or VFL.

Luke Partington (de-listed)
The South Australian has attracted interested from several SANFL clubs, with his former club Norwood rumoured to be the front-runners.

Partington was a joint winner of East Perth’s best-and-fairest last season but didn’t add to his six AFL appearances.
