Valencia say Chile forward Eduardo Vargas will join on loan from Napoli until the end of the season.

Valencia say the deal will go through once Vargas passes a medical exam with team doctors. The 24-year-old Vargas says he is "very proud that a club as important as Valencia is interested in me."

Valencia were recently taken over by coach Juan Pizzi. Currently in ninth place, they are 15 points from fourth place and Spain's last Champions League spot.
