Unshakeable LOSC and Monaco roll on
Nolan Roux hit a last-gasp winner as LOSC Lille posted an 11th straight clean sheet in defeating Olympique de Marseille, before AS Monaco FC followed suit at neighbours OGC Nice.
LOSC Lille moved within a single point of Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain with a dramatic 1-0 success against Olympique de Marseille, before AS Monaco FC dispatched OGC Nice 2-0.
Aiming to put pressure on Paris, who visit Évian Thonon Gaillard FC on Wednesday night, LOSC had a 91st-minute Nolan Roux goal and in-form goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama to thank for a third straight 1-0 triumph.
Roux snatched the points at the last for LOSC, stooping to head in Florent Balmont's cross after Nigerian custodian Enyeama had made a string of saves – repeatedly frustrating André-Pierre Gignac – to shut out OM and extend the team's phenomenal clean sheet record. LOSC and Enyeama have now gone 11 matches without conceding a goal in Ligue 1.
As for Monaco, they made sure to stay a point behind LOSC by achieving back-to-back after their defeat of Nice in the Côte d'Azur derby. The home side were unable to recover from Emmanuel Rivière's first-half double – his first league goals since September – and Lucas Ocampos hammered the nail into their coffin late on.
Elsewhere, Fernando Aristeguieta's 89th-minute goal earned FC Nantes a 2-1 win against struggling Valenciennes FC which moves Les Canaris fifth in the standings.
