Olympique de Marseille will be without playmaker Mathieu Valbuena after the France international midfielder was ruled out until January with a dislocated shoulder.

Olympique de Marseille and France midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has been ruled out of action until January after dislocating his left shoulder in OM's 1-0 loss at LOSC Lille on Tuesday night.

Valbuena, capped 30 times for Les Bleus, has started every one of Marseille's Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League games this term, but the schemer's outing in Lille came to a premature end and he was replaced by Gianni Imbula on 73 minutes.

"He is sidelined for four to six weeks," said head doctor Christophe Baudot of Valbuena, who joins striker André Ayew on Marseille's injury list. Following five straight defeats in UEFA Champions League Group F, OM's European campaign is already certain not to continue, no matter the outcome when they host Borussia Dortmund in their final fixture next week.
