The UFC has announced it will be returning to “The Windy City” this summer. Per the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotional juggernaut’s Twitter page, the UFC 238 pay-per-view (PPV) will go down from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on June 8, 2019:

The promotion’s last even in Chicago was a smashing success. UFC 225 featured a very memorable night of fights in Illinois. Curtis Blaydes delivered a gruesome TKO finish of Alistair Overeem in the prelims. The main card opened up with hometown hero CM Punk making his second-ever walk to the Octagon. He was defeated by Mike Jackson via unanimous decision. Also, Colby Covington won the interim UFC welterweight championship in the co-main event.

Covington bested former 155-pound king Rafael dos Anjos after five rounds. And of course, the middleweight classic between 185-pound champion Robbert Whittaker and Yoel Romero in the main event. Initially, their fight was to be a middleweight title bout. However, Romero missed weight for the fight, forcing it to be changed to a five-round non-title fight.

Hopefully, the UFC can replicate another great card for Chicago fans at the United Center. Perhaps CM Punk will get a third opportunity inside the Octagon in his hometown yet again.
