Tom McDonald was one of the Demons’ best in their spirited 33-point semi-final win over Hawthorn at the MCG on Friday night.

The key forward booted a game-high four majors from 14 possessions and 10 marks as Melbourne booked a preliminary final berth against West Coast next weekend.

But it was his dad Paul stealing the show during the post-game interviews.

Speaking with Melbourne AFLW player and Channel 7 commentator Daisy Pearce, an excited McDonald senior produced some hilarious moments.

Paul and his wife Cath McDonald shared a story about his chat with Simon Goodwin at the famous Melbourne pub Young and Jackson a couple of years back, when he told the Demons coach to play his son up forward.

He finished the interview by giving Pearce a handshake and a hug before yelling “go the Dees”.
