Brian Lara and Ramnaresh Sarwan will help the West Indies batsmen prepare for the two-Test series against India, Cricket West Indies announced on Friday (August 16). They will work with the players in the pre-series camp in Antigua.

The two-Test series, part of the ICC Test Championship, will start in Antigua from August 22 where the likes of Shai Hope, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, John Campbell, Kraigg Brathwaite and Darren Bravo will be expected to do the bulk of the scoring.

"We have some good young batsman in the team who we believe will form the future of West Indies cricket. We saw some very good signs of development earlier this year in the Test matches when we played so very well to beat England and we want to see them grow and become outstanding players for the West Indies," Jimmy Adams, Cricket West Indies' (CWI) Director of Cricket, said.

"We have taken the step to have Brian and 'Ronnie' work with these players, who have demonstrated a will to learn and succeed. We know they still have the passion and love for West Indies cricket and are eager to assist and share their information with the present generation."

West Indies have struggled in the limited-overs game so far - losing both the T20I series and ODI series 0-2 - and will hope to push a much better performance in the Tests. The second Test will be played in Jamaica from August 30.
