Nick Webb has made it to the top of the three short-listed candidates for the post of Strength and Conditioning Coach of India's senior men's cricket team, to fill the position vacated by Shankar Basu.

The All India Senior Selection Committee, along with fitness expert Ranadeep Moitra, conducted a practical assessment of five short-listed candidates for the post, after which they came out with three names - with the other two being Luke Woodhouse and Rajnikanth Sivagnanam.

Webb is currently the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the New Zealand Women's team, having earlier served in the same capacity with Central Districts. Prior to his role with cricket teams, Webb had held similar positions with Rugby teams like Vodafone Warriors, North Harbour Rugby and East Coast Bays Rugby Club.

Woodhouse is currently the National lead for Strength and Conditioning of the England Women's Rugby team, having worked with ECB and Middlesex earlier. Meanwhile, Sivagnanam has served as the fitness coach of Delhi Daredevils.

The conclusion of the appointment is now left to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, stated a media release on Sunday (September 1).
