PARRAMATTA has sacked former State of Origin and Test star Tony Williams for returning a second positive drug test.

The Eels confirmed in a statement they had terminated Williams’ contract after he had returned a positive test for the second time, which carries an automatic 12-game NRL imposed suspension.

Williams was off-contract this year and will now need to find another club if he wants to continue his career.

Parramatta outside back Nathan Davis has also returned a second positive drugs test, and will be banned for 12 NRL games.

Parramatta has fined Davis for the offence and will not offer him a contract at the Eels for next year.

The club said it will continue to offer welfare assistance to both players.
