THE Golden State Warriors national anthem ‘war’ with singer Fergie has been taken to a new level after a handful of player made a music video of themselves dancing to a remix version of the recording.

Players including Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Jordan Bell are seen miming and dancing in the video which was posted by Warriors reserve forward Alfonzo McKinnie after the side’s 28-point win over the Knicks.

Green reposted the vision with the hashtags #fergieremixchallenge #BeARealMan.

The “be a real man” reference is believed to be a cheeky swipe from Green directed at Fergie’s estranged husband Josh Duhamel who last week ripped the Warriors forward for his reaction her rendition of the National Anthem at the All-Star Game.

“I was pissed off at Draymond Green, first of all. I think he owed her an apology. I thought he was kind of a prick,” Duhamel said on Kristine Leahy’s new Fox Sports show, “Fair Game.”

Though most were puzzled by the performance and other All-Stars were seen laughing, Duhamel’s frustration lays with Green.

“Just because he knew the camera was on him, and he snickered about,” the actor said. “I just thought that, if he would have been a real man, he would have at least called her and said, ‘Listen, I’m sorry that I caused all this.’ … That’s what a real man would have done, in my opinion.”

Seems Duhamel has seen he funny side however as he took to social media after the video went viral saying: “Note to self: Think twice before you call out the champs. Well played Warriors.”

Green replied: “Hahaha it was never any disrespect to her... But the challenge about to be lit G!”

Fergie explained the thought behind the unique performance once criticism mounted.

“I’ve always been honoured and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA,” Fergie told the Hollywood Reporter.

“I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone,” she told Hollywood Reporter. “I love this country and honestly tried my best.”
