England batsman James Vince has been brought in by the Sydney Sixers as a replacement for Joe Denly for the remainder of Big Bash League 2018-19. Denly is one of the many other England stars who will not participate further in this edition of the BBL as they leave to join up with the national squad ahead of the tour of West Indies.

Thunder have lost Jos Buttler and Joe Root to the same, and have snapped up England pacer Chris Jordan and New Zealand big-hitter Anton Devcich as replacements.

Vince, who played for Sixers' city rivals - Thunder - last season is said to have been a man in demand in the BBL, as he was confirmed to have been discussed as a signing by Hobart Hurricanes.

"(Vince) is one player we're looking at. We've got a good relationship with the Auckland Aces so he's one name we've discussed, but he's one of half a dozen," Hurricanes coach Adam Griffith told cricket.com.au last week.

Hurricanes however missed out as Vince will now join up with his new teammates in Perth ahead of the team's clash against Perth Scorchers.
