After the first WBBL semifinal ended with a thrilling final-ball catch on the boundary, the second one might have topped it in terms of drama and intensity late in the game.

The game was taken out by the Sydney Sixers thanks to some Ellyse Perry magic in the Super Over, but it was the fielding from a couple of her teammates to force the tie which really stood out in a magnificent contest.

Melbourne Renegades needed three runs off the final ball to win the game when Sophie Molineux smashed the delivery to the boundary.

Out of nowhere, a diving Erin Burns was able to stop the ball millimetres from the rope.

The ball was whipped back to the keeper Alyssa Healy, who pulled off a second stunning piece of fielding by running Molineux out with a direct hit from the other end of the pitch, leaving scores tied and forcing the Super Over.

It was as good as you’ll see from a fielding side.

The Sixers now move on to face the Heat in the WBBL decider after their own final-ball fielding heroics earlier on Saturday.
