The studs...

JACK REDDEN
With Dom Sheed out of the side and Luke Shuey going down in the opening minutes with a hamstring injury, Redden needed to stand up. Just a week after producing his best performance as an Eagle, Redden didn’t let his team down. He ended his day with 32 disposals, eight clearances, four inside 50s and a goal. The former Brisbane Lion has finally found his groove at his second club.

JACK DARLING
Darling’s brilliant start to 2018 has continued. He took a career-high six contested marks to boot three goals and two behinds from 18 disposals – 14 of those won in contests. His steal and goal on the run late in the first quarter gave the Eagles all the momentum going into the first break. He finished the game off with a brilliant pack mark at the top of the square.

WILLIE RIOLI
The second-year Eagle has already become a crowd favourite just six games into his AFL career. Rioli showed why against the Power. His ability to sum up the situation, make the right decision and then deliver the ball cleanly was on display. He booted two goals himself and had four other goal assists. He went at 81 per cent efficiency in his 16 disposals.

TOM COLE
It might have flown under the radar that Cole laid 10 tackles in last weekend’s western derby, but he continued to show his promise against Port. His ability to read the play and attack from half back was valuable. But Cole also isn’t afraid of a contest. He had four one percenters to go with his 21 disposals.

ROBBIE GRAY
It’s no secret that Gray is a star but it’s always good to see guns perform against the tide when their team needs them. Gray tried to provide a target went sent forward but also looked the most likely to inspire them in the midfield. He was right at the centre of things when Port were charging in the second half of the third quarter. He ended up with 28 disposals at 86 per cent efficiency, with four clearances.

JAKE NEADE
The pint-sized Port forward had a big job to do with Chad Wingard out of the team with a hamstring injury. An early fumble cost Port a gilt-edged opportunity for a goal and he also gave away a few free kicks which took the pressure off West Coast. His day finished at five disposals and no shots on goal.
