REPORTS have emerged Steve Smith has entered his name in the 2019 Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft.

Reputable cricket journalists Mazher Arshad and Faizan Lakhani announced the news on Twitter on Thursday.

Lakhani, based in Karachi, wrote: “Big news; Steve Smith confirmed for PSL 2019.”

Smith’s name was linked to the PSL last month, along with David Warner and AB de Villiers.

De Villiers has since made it official in a tweet from his personal account.

The two prodigious batsmen will be the headline names in the platinum roster.

Other international stars to commit to the PSL are the West Indies trio of Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine, and Chris Lynn and Shane Watson.

Smith recently played his first cricket match in Australia since the infamous ball tampering scandal in South Africa.

The 29-year-old notched 85 off 92 balls for his club Sutherland last month.

Prior to that he kept up to the mark, turning out for the Toronto Nationals in the Canadian Global T20 League.
