Harbhajan Singh has quashed any retirement talks and said he will play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL next season. There was speculation that the CSK offspinner might be forced to announce his retirement after he became one of the 25 overseas players to enter the draft of England's new city-based franchise league 'The Hundred' scheduled to be held in London on October 20.

The 39-year-old, though, cleared the air on Friday. "I did not know that to be part of IPL, I couldn't be part of the draft of The Hundred. So right now, I am not retiring and if it is a case of a choice between playing IPL or The Hundred, it will definitely be IPL," Harbhajan told TOI.

According to BCCI rules, an Indian player can't sign up or play for any other leagues apart from IPL unless he has announced his retirement. Harbhajan said he will be abiding by all BCCI regulations. "I will pull out of the draft and abide by all BCCI regulations," he said.

Harbhajan, who had last donned the India jersey in the 2016 Asia Cup, has been an integral part of CSK for the past two years. In fact, he finished with 16 wickets in the last IPL season. Recently, Yuvraj Singh had played in the Global T20 league only after retiring from international cricket.
