Manchester United are ready to make a £79m (AU$139.6m) bid for Douglas Costa if Juventus don’t agree to purchase the Brazilian at the end of his loan deal from Bayern Munich.

The Sun reports that the Italian giants have an agreement in place to sign the Brazilian for £33m (AU$58), but may hold off to pursue added reinforcements in other positions.

The 27-year-old joined on loan from Bayern Munich last summer and has been one of the Serie A champions’ standout players this season, scoring 4 goals.

UNITED’S OTHER PRE-WORLD CUP MEGA DEALS
While their huge bid for Douglas Costa has taken the limelight, Manchester United have been making are also reportedly keen on moves for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.

Belgian Alderweireld and Brazilian Fred have both been selected for to represent their nation’s at the World Cup, and United want a deal secured prior to the tournament.

BBC report that the pair would cost the Red Devils a combined fee in excess of £100m (AU$176m) as manager Jose Mourinho seeks to strengthen the spine of his team.

YAYA JOKES THAT HE COULD JOIN UNITED
Yaya Toure has joked that he could join Manchester United to ‘teach Paul Pogba some things.’

The Ivorian has left Manchester City after eight successful years with the club.

But the midfielder has joked that he would consider joining City’s bitter rivals United, claiming that showing Pogba the ropes would be a big attraction for him

“I love Paul Pogba,” Toure told the Manchester Evening News.
“It’s difficult because of the way the media has treated him. We don’t have the same characteristics because for me I was involved in all the balls, I ran everywhere. I liked that. I was prepared for that. I was working for that for a long time.”

When asked if he would actually consider joining the Red Devils, Toure said “No, no, no, no. The fans are going to kill me!”

SPURS KEEN ON TRIPLE YOUTH SWOOP
After signing a bumper new five-year deal reportedly worth £42.5 million ($A75million), Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is stepping up his plans to land Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Fulham’s rising-star wide-man Ryan Sessegnon as part of a massive summer spree, according to The Mirror.
The Argentine is also looking to add Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to his squad, according to the Daily Mail, with the Ivorian impressing this season.

REDS READY TO MOVE ON COUTINHO REPLACEMENT
The Liverpool Echo reports that Lyon and France sensation Nabil Fekir has refused to rule out a move to the Reds.

With speculation around his future continuing to mount, the 24-year-old has told French outlet RTL that he isn’t ruling anything out over the next few months.

Fekir is thought to represent a long awaited replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who departed Anfield to join Barcelona in January.
