Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce is confident Henri Lansbury will sign a new contract with the club.

Lansbury, who still has two years remaining on his existing deal, is a transfer target for Barclays Premier League newcomers Burnley. Forest have turned down a bid for the 23-year-old midfielder from the Clarets.

Talks to keep Lansbury at the City Ground have been ongoing for several months but Pearce believes the Reds have finally reached an agreement with the former Arsenal trainee.

"I've had a text from the agent saying he was happy with the terms offered," Pearce told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Thursday morning.

"As far as I am concerned, it's a case of getting him down and getting him to sign the contract."
