Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been ruled out for about a month with a hamstring injury.

Aguero, who has 26 goals this season as City have soared to the top of the English Premier League with rampant displays of attacking football, is expected to sit out the first leg of the Champions League last-16 match against Barcelona as well as Premier League and FA Cup games against Chelsea.

Aguero picked up the injury while sprinting for a ball during a 5-1 thrashing of Tottenham midweek. The Argentine player had already been sidelined for a month with a calf injury this season.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini says "Sergio is a top player for us but I think we can replace him."
