The Falcons are hiring Bernie Parmalee as their new running backs coach, two sources told Sporting News.

Parmalee, 50, spent the past three seasons as the Raiders' running backs coach. He played the position for nine seasons with the Dolphins (1992-98) and Jets (1999 to 2000).

Parmalee replaces Keith Carter, who left the Falcons earlier this month to become the Titans' new offensive line coach.
