THE SANFL is to take a trip down memory lane this weekend and celebrate the golden era of the 1980s.

Retro Round will reflect on the mullet, the tight shorts and the many characters like Grenville Dietrich, as well as greats such as Rick Davies and Stephen Kernahan, who dazzled the crowds with their talents.

The round kicks off at The Parade Friday night when Norwood hosts North Adelaide and their jumpers will showcase history.

The Redlegs will wear a replica lace-up jumper, while it will be the striped design for the Roosters.

Woodville-West Torrens has taken the concept a step further for its battle against South Adelaide at Woodville Oval on Saturday.

The Eagles will have a reversible guernsey which recognises Woodville and West Torrens and they will wear one design for the first half, before switching for the second.

And at Glenelg, the Bay Disco will be back after the contest against Adelaide.
