Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Josh Copeland allegedly left his wife bloodied and bruised following an argument.

Copeland is coming off a losing effort in the finals of the season one Professional Fighters League (PFL) heavyweight tournament. Copeland was stopped in the fourth round. Despite the loss, it was a feel-good story up to that point for Copeland. The former UFC heavyweight has been known for his friendly personality and he powered through the PFL tournament as a heavy underdog.

Josh Copeland Allegedly Assaults His Wife
TMZ Sports obtained a police report revealing the Feb. 2 arrest of Copeland. Police in Adams County, Colorado received word of an attack and rushed to the home of Copeland and his wife. The report noted that Copeland’s wife had “an obvious bruise on her left eye, a cut and was bleeding. There was blood down the front of her face and neck.” Copeland’s wife said she slapped her husband several times during the argument after he pushed her. The heavyweight allegedly punched his wife in the face and took her phone away.

Copeland was charged with second-degree assault, obstruction, and child abuse. The child abuse charge was booked due to Copeland having allegedly assaulted his wife in front of their child.
