Russell Westbrook will not be punished for shoving a fan after the Thunder's 127-124 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday, according to ESPN.

In what can best be described as a bizarre incident, after Nuggets guard Gary Harris hit a 3-pointer as time expired to give Denver the win, a fan got into Westbrook's face as the reigning MVP walked off the court.

The fan got in very close to Westbrook, and the Thunder guard shoved him away. Westbrook was clearly surprised, and the shove seemed to be not one of frustration but more a reaction to someone being in his personal space.

It would not be surprising if someone lost a job at the Pepsi Center for allowing a fan to get as far onto the court as the fan did.

The Nuggets on Friday released a statement about the incident.

"We can confirm that the Denver Police Department was involved as well as arena security officials," the statement read. "The matter has been passed on to the NBA and they will be investigating the incident further and handling the matter internally.
