The Melbourne Renegades have snatched a thrilling final-ball victory to claim their first points of the Rebel WBBL season.

Needing four to win off the final delivery, Claire Koski found the boundary off Sophie Devine to seal a six-wicket triumph at Melbourne’s Citipower Centre.

Needing 154 to topple the Strikers, the losses of skipper Amy Satterthwaite (8), Inglis (5) and Molineux (2) hurt the Renegades early in their reply.

But at the other end there was no stopping England star Wyatt who powered her way to a half-century from just 39 deliveries.

When she departed for 62 (47), Koski and Erica Kershaw picked up where she left off, setting up a thrilling finale.

Needing eight from the last over, Devine kept the pair to four singles from the first five deliveries before Koski’s final-ball boundary got the Renegades over the line.

She finished unbeaten on 39 (30), alongside Kershaw on 30no (27).

Earlier, the Strikers elected to bat first as New Zealand imports Suzie Bates and Sophie Devine shared on 86-run opening stand, piling plenty of pressure on the Renegades bowlers.

Only Australian internationals Sophie Molineux and Georgia Wareham were able to curtail the pair, leg-spinner Wareham eventually capturing both key wickets, the dangerous Devine out for 39 (43) before Bates was sharply caught behind by Emma Inglis on 54 (44).

A rapid-fire 33 off 20 from Tahlia McGrath kept the Strikers’ ticking along, before a flurry of late wickets saw Adelaide finish on 7-153.
