REAL Madrid have their eye on an unsettled Premier League starlet, whose contract stalemate could open the flood gates for other interested clubs.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is looking to make the most of his extended stay at Manchester United by targeting a Serbian sensation, a Barcelona icon and a long-serving Gunners hero.

All that and more in another edition of Rumour Mill!

REAL IN HOT PURSUIT OF STERLING
Real Madrid are chasing Manchester City star Raheem Sterling with the England winger locked in a contract stalemate, according to reports.

The Los Blancos are keen to bolster their attacking ranks after losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in the summer.

And the Mirror claim Sterling is their new No1 priority, as they value the 23-year-old’s potential.

Sterling has only 18 months left on his current A$336,000-a-week contract at the Etihad and is yet to agree terms on a new deal which has attracted the attention of Real chief Julen Lopetegui - who is keeping tabs on the ex-Liverpool star’s current situation.

In 47 games for his club last season, Sterling scored 23 times, with his end product noticeably improving under the Spanish boss.

THREE-WAY RACE FOR GUNNERS STAR
Arsenal are bracing themselves for cut-price bids from Manchester United, Liverpool and Juventus for Aaron Ramsey in January.

The Standard claim the Gunners are set to expect a wealth of bids in the winter window for their Welsh contract rebel.

Ramsey has been unable to thrash out terms on a new deal at the Emirates since kicking off talks in the summer.

As things stand, the Wales international will be available on a free transfer as of July 2019.

But Premier League giants Liverpool and United are mulling over a cheap deal for Ramsey in January - with Arsenal considering offers to avoid losing him for nothing.

The 27-year-old will also be able to kick-off pre-contract negotiations with overseas clubs from January 1, 2019.

UNITED READY TO POUNCE ON UNSETTLED BARCA ACE
According to the Mirror, Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona star Jordi Alba.

The Spanish World Cup-winner recently stalled on a new contract with the Catalan giants and Mourinho is reportedly looking to bring him to England’s north west.

The 29-year-old has played more than 250 times for Barca, winning four La Liga titles, four Copa del Reys and the Champions League.

The left-back has established himself as one of the world’s best and United are reportedly keeping a close eye on his sticky contract situation.

AC MILAN SIGN BRAZILIAN SENSATION
AC Milan have beaten Liverpool and Manchester United to the signature of Brazilian starlet Lucas Paqueta.

The Serie A giants have agreed to a $56million deal with Flamengo - the club Paqueta joined as a ten-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona had also been in the running the 21-year-old midfield sensation, with Milan ultimately winning the race.

Paqueta has been on the books of Flamengo for 11 years and has earned two full Brazil caps in the process.

The midfielder will now join up with his San Siro team-mates in January subject to a medical.

While Milan have been something of a fading force in recent seasons, it’s thought the club’s sporting director Leonardo played a key role in beating Europe’s elite to a deal.

BLUES MAKE SWOOP FOR MILAN DEFENDER
Chelsea could get one over Manchester United by making a swoop for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

The centre-back is one of the first names on the Rossneri team sheet with Genaro Gattuso choosing to rotate Mateo Musacchio and Cristian Zapata alongside him.

And he has been given the captain’s armband by Gattuso.

The 23-year-old missed Milan’s 3-1 win over Chievo last weekend with an injury, while the club currently on a nine-game unbeaten run.

The former Roma and Sampdoria youth product is in his fourth season at the San Siro, but a lack of Champions League football and turmoil in the boardroom could persuade him to move to England.

JOSE KEEPING CLOSE TABS ON TRANSFER TARGET
Manchester United are tracking Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic, according to reports.

United boss Jose Mourinho will run the rule over the defender during the current international with a potential bid lined up for January, say Serbian outlet Telegraf.

After being odds-on to be sacked, Mourinho looks to have bought himself time at Old Trafford after the dramatic win over Newcastle on Saturday.

And with speculation Zinedine Zidane is waiting in the wings to take over, Mourinho will have clear the air talks with Ed Woodward in London ahead of Thursday’s board meeting.

As he did in the summer, the United boss will again insist he needs to beef-up his back line and has identified the Serbian 20-year-old central defender.

He has impressed in Serie A this term and will be watched when Serbia take on Montenegro on Thursday and the Portuguese will be in attendance.

SERIE A SENSATION ON UTD’S RADAR
Mourinho will also use the international break to watch Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The $168million-rated Lazio midfielder is seen as a possible long-term replacement for Paul Pogba who is a reported target for Barcelona.

Milenkovic moved to Florence from Partizan Belgrade in 2017 for a bargain $7.5m.

But a string of outstanding performances for the Viola has put a host of top European clubs on alert.

The Serbian international’s value will have rocketed in the last 18 months and United could test the Italian side’s resolve with a bid during the January window.

Milenkovic has made eight appearances this term and has already hit two goals.
