September 27, 2019 was set to be the new dawn of Pakistan cricket, with Karachi scheduled to host its first-ever One-Day International in 10 years. Unfortunately, the rain decided to play spoilsport and the first ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was called off without even the toss taking place.

The weather forecast wasn't great for the game and it had rained overnight. However, there was still hope that rain would relent at some point of time and fans would be able to watch their heroes in action. Just that it continued rain persistently and at around 4.30 PM local, the umpires decided to call off the game.

The second ODI of the three-match series has been rescheduled and will be played at the same National Karachi stadium on Monday (September 30).
