Cameron Bancroft found form on Saturday with a century in Western Australia's Premier Cricket competition, while there were plenty of other big scores around the country.

Bancroft is currently serving a nine-month suspension for his part in the ball-tampering scandal, but the 26-year-old showed his class with an excellent 154 for Willetton in their Premier Cricket contest against University at James Oval in Perth.

It was the first time Bancroft has reached three figures this season and his 240-ball innings allowed Willetton to post a decent total of 9-291 from their allotted 90 overs.

In Sydney, fellow suspended player Steve Smith failed to fire with the bat, while David Warner contributed for his NSW Premier Cricket side with the ball.

On a day where big scores were the norm, Smith missed out for Sutherland at Glenn McGrath Oval as he was dismissed LBW for 27 as his side compiled 7-285.

NSW Blues contracted players Austin Waugh (18) and Ben Dwarshuis (0) also missed out, with Tom Doyle doing the damage for Sutherland with a well-compiled 129 from 156 deliveries.

Across town at Petersham Oval, Warner was in the field all day for Randwick Petersham as Dale Mckay helped Hawkesbury amass a whopping 6-377.

Mckay hit two sixes and 21 fours in his brilliant knock of 147, with Warner picking up two wickets with his leg-spin and figures of 2-48 from 12 overs.

Steve O'Keefe was also in action in NSW Premier Cricket over the weekend, with the veteran spinner collecting excellent figures of 4-42 from 29 overs for Manly-Warringah against Fairfield-Liverpool.

O'Keefe turned out for Manly-Warringah with Test stars Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon all in action for the NSW Blues in their JLT Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland.

Former NSW player Nic Maddinson did his chances of winning a Shield berth for his new state no harm with a superb century for St Kilda in Victoria's Premier Cricket competition.

Maddinson hit an unbeaten 103 from 160 deliveries on Sunday as St Kilda successfully chased down Footscray's imposing target of 301.

Big scores were also the story of the day in the first week of play in round seven of South Australia's Premier Cricket competition.

South Australia contracted batter Kelvin Smith (155) and Tea Tree Gully wicketkeeper Jack Holliday (104) reached three figures, but the biggest score of the day belonged to Kensington opener Robert White.

White smashed 185 from 231 balls as Kensington compiled 7-421, before a canny declaration saw Woodville reduced to 2-16 at stumps and facing a mountain to climb on the second day of play.

James Faulkner was also in the runs in Tasmania, with the former Australia allrounder scoring an unbeaten 102 to ensure University of Tasmania didn't fall to an outright loss against Kingborough at Kingston Twin Ovals.
