What do West Coast’s Liam Ryan and Richmond’s Jack Higgins have in common?

They’re both first-year players who have injected not only freakish skill into their clubs, but plenty of humour and light-heartedness to help keep their teammates relaxed.

We saw Higgins crack his fellow Tigers up on Thursday night by telling a joke at half-time, with the premiers going on to put in a strong second half and roll Sydney.

Today, it was Ryan’s turn.

Pre-game, he decided to keep Liam Duggan on his toes by giving him a fright after popping out from a hiding spot in the Adelaide Oval rooms.

Then at half-time, he joined Willie Rioli and Lewis Jetta in having a changeroom dance - and grinning at the camera while doing it.

In an AFL world where things sometimes appear a matter of life and death, it’s refreshing to see some levity among some of the league’s best youngsters.
